Wilkerson: Pen not so bad
By adamg on Sun, 09/04/2011 - 10:07am
The Herald reports Dianne Wilkerson sent them a letter from prison. Food's not the best, but otherwise, she's doing quite well, thank you very much.
Should we be concerned she hasn't updated her Web site since June?

Seems odd that she would send
Seems odd that she would send the Herald an exclusive. I'm thinking she punked them. Expect a story in the Globe about how gullible the Herald is.
Sociological question
Which newspaper is more widely read in Wilkerson's former district- Globe or Herald? Anyone know?
A sure sign of the coming apocalypse..
the Herald comments section. If it was up to those knuckle draggers, Wilkerson would be in Guantanamo. She's doing her time, she's teaching and generally seems to be making the best out of it.
Now when they put Sal in Allenwood Low and the hardest part of his day will be restringing his tennis racket, then they can bitch.
But they won't.
Oh, they'll bitch.
Maybe not quite as much.
But they hate pretty much everyone but Scott Brown.
Comment section
The bizarre thing about the Herald comments section (and the Globe has it's share of this also) is how the commentors view absolutely EVERYTHING in polarized political terms, ie liberal/conservative, "Democrat/Republican", no matter what the story is. It could be the most innocuous human interest piece that has nothing to do with anything, like "the sky is blue today", and there will be a plethora of "it's the fault of the damn liberals and moonbats!" comments. Makes no sense at all. Do people really go around all day thinking like this?
Do people really go around
Do people really go around all day thinking like this? Yes. Yes, they do.
(No subject)
So no matter what the content
So no matter what the content of the original post, commenters turn it into a political diatribe against the hated enemy? No kidding...
As opposed to the reasoned
As opposed to the reasoned centrist dialogue that takes place on the UHub comment section?
Not liberal, conservative, nor centrist
it's a point regarding a thought process that sees everything through a political lens. Thoughtful comments need not follow such a pattern. I can, for example, say that I've met Wilkerson, enjoyed speaking with her, and found agreement on several issues. But I can just as easily condemn her for accepting a bribe, playing the race card, and generally using her office for her own purposes more so than for her constituents'. None of this has any baring, though, on her experience in jail, which is why the comments are rather foolish, regardless of political foundation.
Dianne's District
I much rather read a story about a poor single mother trying to raise her kids and trying to better herself. Wilkerson is a corrupt pol who did nothing to stem the tide of poverty and crime in her district accept play the race card. Lets not forget this investigation was about bringing more booze bars and liquor licenses into her district and if she didn't get her shakedown fees she was going to scream racism
Not the Report I'm Waiting For
Oh,I don't begrudge Wilkerson her relative comfort. I am just waiting to hear the info everyone says she has on how & who is selling what permits & licenses where. Does she have it or not?
I think if she had it she
I think if she had it she would have used it.
Not keeping it as an insurance policy?
Against getting shivved? Or to have 'friends' to help when she gets out?
