Fire in East Boston apartment

Firefighters responded around 9:35 p.m. to 65 Frankfort St., for a fire that apparently started in a third-floor mattress. It was declared knocked down around 9:49 p.m.

The Red Cross was requested to the scene to help 8 residents find a place to stay tonight. The Boston Fire Department reports that while the fire was confined to the third floor, the entire building's electricity had to be shut off due to water cascading down from there.
