South Boston suspect all wet

A man who apparently decided to try to evade justice at South Boston Municipal Court shortly before noon quickly found himself being tracked by Boston police officers. Eventually, as one does in Southie, he found himself at the water, in this case the beach at O Street.

He jumped in and swam out - about 20 feet - as officers on shore watched and called in the marine unit. He then just stayed out there, treading water - until his arms seemed to give out about five minutes later, when he swam to shore and surrendered to the waiting officers, who radioed the marine unit their help wouldn't be needed.
