West Roxbury team a hit with City Council
The City Council started its meeting today by celebrating the West Roxbury Raiders, 2015 Boston City League baseball champions.
City Councilor Matt O'Malley (West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain) said the championship was especially noteworthy because the team has not had its own field to play on for two years, as contractors build new fields next to the West Roxbury Education Complex.
The players and coach Cliff Wilson joined councilors for a photo. Wilson said that commitment, loyalty and accountability have helped pay great dividends for the boys on and off the field and that the team is especially looking forward to opening the fall season on its new baseball diamond.

That's awesome
And I'm sincerely happy for them as a Westie alum. But let's be frank, Boston Public has the worst athletic program in the state.
One nitpick
Which sport did they play?
baseball
baseball
Thanks
To both of you.
Sure it isn't Vogon politics
Oh wait, you're asking about the team, not the Council.
