Tiki-torch Woburn cop quits

Woburn Police report that John Donnelly, suspended last week while officials looked into his role as an active organizer of the 2017 Charlottesville white-supremacy tiki parade and riot. "has resigned from his position as patrol officer and is no longer employed by the Woburn Police Department."

Police Chief Robert Rufo said an internal-affairs investigation into Donnelly's activities in Charlottesville will continue and could result in the department asking the state to keep Donnelly from working in law enforcement anywhere else in the state. The Middlesex County District Attorney's office is conducting its own investigation into any cases in which Donnelly took part.

Assuming that resigning before termination means he gets to keep hope alive of being a police officer someplace else?

The Woburn branch of Century 21 which had been known as "The Donelly Group" is now known as "The Woburn Group."

The agent you use when you're sad that Massachusetts no longer allows racially restrictive housing covenants...

No kidding. What do you want to bet he's also violated the realtor's code of ethics, article 10, which as you surely know states:

"REALTORS® shall not deny equal professional services to any person for reasons of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. REALTORS® shall not be parties to any plan or agreement to discriminate against a person or persons on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. (Amended 1/14)"

It would be a real shame, by which I mean hilarious, if he ended up getting...whatever you call getting kicked out of this particular paraprofession.

If realtors policed their own better than cops policed their own.

Not that I particularly want to be mistreated by realtors, but at least they don't pack heat.

...and is permitted to concealed carry. What are the odds that he leaves his gun secured at home during showings and open houses?

You know being a cop is easy based on all the time and energy cops have for other careers/ nazi parades.

since when has disciplinary action at one police department ever been a hindrance to employment at another police department? (perhaps noting that depending on how severe the disciplinary action is they may have to move to another state)

One of the things it did was set up a new state board that can ban somebody from ever working in law enforcement again, at least in Massachusetts. That's what the Woburn PD will use its internal investigation to consider going for if the story about Donnelly checks out.

His Nazi cop buddies will give him a job in another state.

I hear he is applying for the open Police Chief job in Brookline. He should be a shoo-in.

This tweet, from a long thread about Donnelly, also shows he is a gun and ammo dealer. I really wanna know if the BPD can place him at the Nazi Rally the week after Charlottesville, on Boston Common, when 45K counter demonstrators showed up. Bet Donnelly was there, perhaps in some planning capacity. Maybe he is a friend of Rob Burke's or Samson Racioppi https://twitter.com/UnmaskUTR/status/1580764819858169856?s=20&t=bQ9fa1OS...
