]]>I am so grateful it happened at 10pm instead of 2am. If it had happened later I fear we would be planning a funeral today. John said it spread really fast. He overheard his downstairs neighbor on the phone to her DH saying that she had a candle going and it caught the curtains on fire.

Boston Police report four people were shot at the Tedeschi's (formerly the Store 24) at 1187 Hyde Park Ave. around 2 a.m. today.
Police say the four were approached by three or four young men, who opened fire. The four got into their car and fled to 142 West St., where they called police:
Victim #1 had been shot through the left hand, victim #2 had been shot on the left side of the stomach, victim #3 had been shot on the left thigh, and victim #4 had been shot on the inner left thigh.
All were taken to local hospitals; all expected to survive.
Around 4:19 this morning, police report, a man was shot at repeatedly - and hit at least twice - in his car at 15 Elder St. in Uphams Corner. Despite his injuries, he was able to drive himself to Boston Medical Center, police say.
Finally, police say they managed to arrest a bike-riding gunman near Whitfield Street and Wheatland Avenue around 11:30 last night before he managed to shoot anybody. Gregory Davis, 18, of Dorchester, was arrested on charges related to possession of a loaded semi-automatic firearm.

On arrival, officers located the victim, a 40 year-old black male, who they learned had been assaulted by a suspect who fled the scene. The victim was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with life threatening injuries where he was later pronounced.
Police say they are looking for anybody who might have seen the incident. Contact the homicide unit at (617) 343-4470 or use the anonymous CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS (or text 'TIP' to CRIME).
