So when are we going to call
So when are we going to call in a Watertown style lock down? What's this like 50 in the last couple of months? This stuff should piss everybody off.
relax
relax, its a big city with cities issues but overall Boston is doing really well. ur not gonna cut out all crime. cities with 1/3 the population are putting up twice as many as Boston go look up Fort Wayne indiana or Tulsa Oklahoma among many other cities
Boston police are proactive and cut the crime down. if they didnt then Boston would have actual legit shooting/homicide numbers but in reality Boston is pretty safe and soft compared to cities its size and even smaller cities.
Relax?
Telling me to relax is a little tactic to make you feel like your coming from a superior place to me...and I am relaxed. If you need to talk like that, that's ok too.
But, murders aren't about comparisons? (although I'm sure the college population helps offset the stats) We're talking about what we as a city are willing to tolerate. We've grown to accept certain neighborhoods or streets are going to be unsafe so we don't go there or don't move there or don't want our kids and friends to walk there. Boston Strong? Much of Boston is in fact bogged down in crime. If there's a drive-by shooting on a street, it hurts everyone, and certainly the kids in the neighborhood who see no one doing anything about it.
In Watertown, residents were told to stay inside because there was shooting on the street somewhere in the town. If there's a shooting near my house, no one will tell me shit and I could very well decide to go walk with my daughter down the street towards the store that was just shot up.
people in Oakland California
people in Oakland California deserve a city lock down. they have half the population of Boston yet 43 homicides so far this year while Boston has a measly 22. Springfield, MA already has 9 and its 1/4 of the population.
i study these stats and can tell you there are like 50 cities with major problems compared to Boston that deserve to be shut down. Camden New Jersey 70k people, its smaller than Quincy and has 1 more murder than Boston so far this year
shootings are gonna happen in summer in a big city but in reality Boston should be averaging 90-120 homicides a year to be considered an issue but it barely cracks 60 nowadays.
How about gunfire on its own?
How about gunfire on its own?
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
I totally agree and I am vexed. As soon as the city was shut down because of the bombings I said, why don't they approach these inner city murder with the same diligence. "Boston Strong", yeah? Not in the hood.
