It seems this station gets closed every other week because of a shooting, stabbing or gang brawls.I sure this is not considered a plush assignment for the transit police.

What exactly is going down there? The same old answer is about gangbeefs. What are they beefing about? Drugs, pimping and guns are keeping them in business.

is one of those lovely euphemisms isn't it?
How many burgers' worth of 'beef' does it need to be to be properly called a 'feud'?
If it's all the way up to premium sirloin levels, is it then a 'war'?
God forbid we ever see fillet mignon. That's bound to have a lethal radius measured in whole 'hoods' instead of 'T stops'.
Yeesh. Say what you want about community policing (and I probably won't disagree with you) but some of this stuff just needs to heads to be busted in order to not have happen.

It's in the middle of at least two rival gangs. Jackson has always been a station to avoid whenever possible.
99% of the time it is about respect.

I think this is a second stabbing in the area-- an Orange Line station in JP. The first started with fisticuffs and ended with a homicide. They were high school boys who commute to and from school on the MBTA but this is school vacation week. Thanks for posting Adam.

in and around Bromley Heath, Jackson Square and that area of lower Centre St. It's been like that since at least the 1970s.
