Eric Gagne has a posse - of angry fans ready to lynch him

GagneBoston Police report arresting a disgruntled Sox fan for throwing a bottle of Poland Spring at the pitcher's mound at Fenway Park last night:

According to the suspect, he threw the water bottle in the direction of Red Sox reliever Eric Gagne because he was angry at the pitcher's poor play. Said the suspect, "I was pissed because he blew the game."

Gianno Lettieri, 35, of Marion, got no relief, however - he was arrested and taken away.

I'm glad a fan showed GagMe how he felt. That's how most of us feel. We just don't want to admit it! I'm glad GagMe didn't get hit, but I'm glad he knows how some fans feel. HE REEKS!

Eric Gagne has a long track record of very good performance in clutch situations. However, sometimes people just don't have it. So, do you think the guy isn't trying? Do you think he's tanking the games? Do you honestly believe that he's happy with the outcomes of his outings thus far? If not, pack up your idiocy and take it elsewhere. The last thing we need in this city is for so-called Red Sox fans to begin acting like the very worst of Yankees fans.

At the very least, direct your vitriol where it belongs. The Red Sox management made the trade to bring him here. Dump your bitching in their lap, not Gagne's.

I can't stand Kevin Millar and I think it is the fact that Francona kept putting him in there when he was slumping. Gagne will come through and redeem himself (I can feel it) but right now he's struggling. Take him out when there is still a chance of winning the game (see Friday night).

We still have the best record in baseball, its not water bottle throwing time. Recycle your water bottles! Or drink from the bubblah!

As someone who basically tends to avoid bottled water like the plague (when possible, of course),
I tend to drink from bubblers when I see one, because there aren't as many of them any more, I also use a Brita Pitcher with the Brita Filters, which have to be replaced from time to time, but they're well worth it, imo.
Good-tasting water results from that!!

Bubblers, unfortunately, have virtually gone the way of cooler water urns and bottled water.

If, however, it came to a really dire emergency, I'd drink bottled water as a last resort, but I still don't trust it, either
