(Former) Somerville park sign for dogs

Somerville parks used to have these signs. They are no longer up because the law has changed to allow leashed dogs in parks.

Dogs to Wed!

I used to have a picture taken over by the access onto Nahant of a partly eroded, partly ammended sign that once read:

NO DOGS ALLOWED
JUNE 1 TO SEPTEMBER 1

or something like that. It was altered to read
DOGS TO WED
JUNE 15

All of the parks on the Greenway downtown have similar signs with a people warning and a dog translation. I love them. I think small humerous things like this actually make people who read the signs pay attention to them because they remember them. I also feel like when the people who wrote the sign went out of their way to be funny I should at least do them the courtesy of following the rule on the sign. Maybe the T should start putting up "no grafitti" signs along the tracks with spray paint.
