Via Phillip McCarthy comes this trailer for a documentary being made this year on Boston's own music-video station (man, I'd forgotten about jackets with the sleeves pushed up):

This is great
I've known John since I first ran the board for "Open House Party" at my first radio job in Burlington, VT. I never actually got the chance to watch V66, but I can't wait to see this film.
More V66 stuff
John Garabedian on air, along with a Harvard Coop ad for a blowout music sale (only $5.69 for LPs and cassettes).
Joe Perry of Aerosmith trying to do a V66 ad.
I am way too excited...
...about this documentary! Even watching the trailer was a trip. I am going to dig out my cherished V-66 bumper sticker right now. Play The Stompers! THE STOMPERS!!!!!!!!!! :-)
The V
I remember V66 fondly, but man, that Starship song has to go...
What's with the soundtrack?
What, Boston has such a poor music scene that he had to use that (*&*)(& Starship song for the soundtrack?
This is Sunny Joe White on V-66
Oh, Sunny Joe, how I miss thee!
Oh my God...
...I'm completely excited about this. I LOVED V66. In addition to the Starship stuff, they made it a point to showcase local music (pretty sure Human Sexual Response appeared in the studio, and who could ever forget the so-awful-it-was-awesome video for Ball & Pivot's "Down"?)
V66 stickers could be seen affixed to toll booths throughout the state for YEARS after it had gone off the air.
New man!!!
I LOVE(d?) that song "Bad Boys" by New Man. I bought the EP way back when. Anyone know if it made it to CD? Is the band still around?
I'm not finding much on New
I'm not finding much on New Man, in terms of a CD. That song was big fun.
Ball & Pivot's stuff, however, did recently get re-released on CD:

Man, I remember the first time I saw the video for "Down" and thinking that was just the filthiest song EVER.
Ah the memories
I remember having a few friends stay over one night while we were tripping on LSD. V66 was the only thing on (pre cable) so we watched it all night, not sure if it was the acid or if it was really happening but they only played Aretha Franklins Pink Cadillac and REM's Cant Get There From Here. All night, over and over. Ill never forget it. We also saw a ghost sitting in my dads car in the driveway but we were way to scared to approach the ghost.I miss V66, dont miss the acid so much.
