Mshieldsdunn was not amused by the Imperial Stormtroopers in today's St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Boston, so he took a bunch more photos.
Marcphoto also took photos. So did Linipei. As did Molly Griffin. And Massmoga.

Oh...
That's just wrong.
Lemme get this straight...
Dorks playing dress-up = OK
Gays looking fabulous = NOT OK
A symbol of authoritarian oppression = OK
War veterans against war = NOT OK
Is that about right?
If you think this is wrong....
Just wait until next weekend, when Anime Boston (animeboston.com) takes places at the Hynes center, complete with cosplay masquerade ball and anime karaoke bar.
The afternoon of the St.
The afternoon of the St. Patrick's Day parade is the 5 hours of the year when the percentage of people in Southie who are Irish is at its lowest. Not many of the drunken idiots dressed up blinking shamrock glasses and wearing brand new porkpie hats are Irish, so who cares about the stormtroopers? For all you know they could be the most irish brigade of all under those costumes. Could be they did not want a costume that lampooned their culture
In fairness...
George Lucus does have some Irish blood in him. And the Stormtroopers were designed by Ralph McQuarrie, which is a good gaelic name so I imagine he has some Irish or Scotch-Irish in him, too. Irish-American heritage, right there.
Those storm troopers are
Those storm troopers are actually part of a charitable organization that dresses up like that for various fundraising events.
Supposedly that armor is really uncomfortable.
Leave the Storm Troopers alone!
I'm tired of all the years of slanderous attacks on Storm Troopers! They're just trying to earn a living, man. Give 'em a break, they're only clones who are programmed to do the Emperor's bidding.
And from what I hear they have major chafing problems from the outfits, don't have a good dental plan and are subjected to random alcohol and drug screenings.
They should unionize
The firefighters pick and choose what parts of the outfit they have to wear while on duty and the only drug screenings are when they're run by the arresting officers!
