Foiled!

So, how widespread was the Comcast problem that prevented me from seeing the opening pitch this morning?

At least at my house south of Boston, there were "this channel should be available shortly" messages on NESN and ESPN2, standard and HD. Was it a Comcast problem? A satellite glitch?

And I'm really glad I wasn't manning the phones at their customer service center this morning.

at least not in Davis or Ball squares, where I watched different parts of this morning's game.

Comcast or DirectTV

Was it Comcast or DirectTV? Comcast was working in Cambridge, but DirectTV seemed to be broken lots of places. Here's what the Globe had to say:

No Sox, no service

Not only did DirecTV’s ESPN2 and NESN feeds come over blank, in certain sections of Massachusetts, Comcast customers got the early morning denial as well. Nobody can definitively explain if the two issues are related.
