Letting people die in the name of ratings

The Outraged Liberal marvels at Channel 7 clamming up on such a juicy story about a high-powered nabob allegedly going berserk at Logan before getting to Channel 4's distressing lack of real interest in public safety - namely, its promo campaign for an upcoming report on killer sushi in Boston:

Failure to panic?

In other words, OL thinks Channel 4 should be panicking people with sound bites, rather than giving a full account of just what the risks are and aren't?

On the Channel 7 item: Given their reaction, I'm now inclined to believe the Globe's version. But I still consider my initial skepticism the right reaction given the information available at the time.
