The Transcript reports on a little domestic disturbance on Johnswood Road in Roslindale this past Friday:

is this a double standard? what do they call suspects from mattapan?
i was watching one of those dumb VH1 countdown shows the other night and the subject was the boston accent and how it has been over played in recent years.the comedians were making comments about how people from boston really talk like jimmy fallon on snl or matt damon in departed( which i thought was a terribly fake accent from a cambridge native.) one of the comedians said that boston was really white trashy. i was offended. why is that ok? is black trash ok? brown trash?
Hmm, double standard?
I'm just touchy because I'm tired of people in the suburbs always complaining about what a cesspool of crime Boston is, when the fact is Boston could save a fair amount of money in the PD if only suburbanites would stop causing trouble here.
But, yeah, maybe "white trash" was a bit over the line, especially since I don't actually know what color the guy is. So I've changed it to just "alleged trash."

Even in the mid- to late-80s when crime was at a peak and i lived in Kenmore Square, the only people I knew who had been beat up, mugged, harassed etc. were attacked by people from outside Boston who had come in to the area to party.
Don't try this at home, folks! Go spend your weekday evening getting drunk out of your trunk on a residential street, mouth off at the people who live there who have to leave for work at 7:00 am, and beat down some random person in the city for kicks.

Just for the record
When I wrote the "trash" comment, I was referring to the guy from Norwood allegedly trying to break into houses, not the Roslindale guy who allegedly threw a lamp at somebody's head.
