This year's Dianne Wilkerson?

State Rep. Carl Sciortino of Medford says a whole bunch of his nomination petitions have disappeared and he wants the police to investigate (speaking of Wilkerson, this time around, she filed 10 times the required number of signatures to make sure she's on the ballot).

Slight Difference
According to the news on the matter, Sciortino got more than enough signatures certified by town hall in his district. The disappearance of some of them happened before he got them to the Secretary of State's office.
I think it's an important distinction between that and not collecting enough verified signatures in the first place.
There is nothing remotely
There is nothing remotely similar about Scortino and Wilkerson. Scortino is responsible, responsive, informed, earnest and resourceful. Wilkerson is none of those things.
What would happen...
What would he have don if he wasn't so smart???
What a jackass - he is obviously too incompentent to be state rep.
Very Suspicious
You see, Carl "stole" the seat from the utterly useless good ol' boy Vinnie Ciampa, at least if you talk to some of the people likely responsible for making sure the signatures get where they are supposed to go.
Vinnie owned that seat for life, just as they expect to have lifetime employment on the backs of other reps for life and mayors for life who won't be named. It simply wasn't fair that Carl ran, campaigned, and got people to vote for him.
Very sad that so many people who live so near to Revere's Ride have not the slightest inkling of what the term "participatory democracy" really means (other than keep your place and vote for who you are told to vote for).
