Beantown Chalk Monsters exists to encourage people to make public art on the sidewalk in chalk.

The streets of Boston and its environs are in desperate need of decoration. When people become isolated and don't notice their surroundings, they miss out on a lot of beauty and joy in the world.

Jiffywoob, who helped start the thing, was appropriately impressed by the chalk drawings in front of the Boylston T stop last night.
