Happy the trophy didn't get torn down

Happy to see the giant trophy still standing when I came down 93 this morning. You never know what celebrating morons will tear down, turn over or set on fire to commemorate a win for a team THEY WEREN'T ON.

Inflate-a- trophy was heavily patrolled

Evidence? I had to dodge large mounds of horsedoot speedbumps when taking my bike through the area this morning. Looks like the zone all around that display was under tight control.

It was also under detail coverage most times I went through there.

Trophy replica already being removed

By Ron Newman | Wed, 06/18/2008 - 12:01pm

At 11 this morning, workers were already starting to take down the huge Larry O'Brien Trophy replica overlooking the Zakim Bridge. I would have thought they'd want to leave it up until tomorrow's parade, or even all summer long.

NBA Owns It

By SwirlyGrrl | Wed, 06/18/2008 - 12:11pm

It was clearly part of the NBA Trailer Park Campus set up between the Garden and the Zakim. It was installed at the same time, and they were taking it all apart this morning.

Too bad the league isn't willing to leave it behind for a while.

Was there a similar one at the Forum Staples Center?

Tourists and locals loved it

When I passed by it today, there was a steady stream of people taking pictures of it, or having their pictures taken standing in front of it. I really wish it was staying around.
