Massholes like to stay in practice on Storrow Drive

Deb Geisler reports on an only-in-Boston maneuver on Storrow Drive during the outbound rush hour yesterday involving somebody in the right lane who'd just realized he'd missed that weird left exit for Copley after the tunnel:

... Car comes to a dead stop, backs up on Storrow Drive, re-aligns himself, and makes a 90ish-degree turn across two lanes of traffic and a rumble strip to get off the road. ...

Been there , done that. If he didnt do that he would have been stuck on the road for 45 minutes trying to back track back to where he had to go. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Take the Fenway exit, loop down to Comm Ave, take it back to the same place. Lose you all of maybe 15 minutes.

Which would destroy your Masshole cred.

OP must have been so transfixed by this supreme maneuver that she didn't notice the other motorists honking. I mean, the chorus of blaring horns and flipping fingers is part of the whole theatric, isn't it? The applause, though, I can totally believe...
