Square deal in Roslindale

Ed gives a thumb's up to the takeout at the Square Corner Cafe, the new place on Washington Street (a door down from Robyn's):

Rosi needs another sub shop like it needs another Chinese take-out. I'll probably eat there once in awhile but geeesh Roslindale House of Pizza and Romanos are in walking distance. It would be nice to see more places that vary the formula a tiny bit.

Time for you to go into the restaurant business.

It's not a sub shop!

Go in and take a look, grab a menu to take home with you, and study it. You'll find that 90% of what is on the menu is not subs. Yes, you can get a sub, but you can also get panini, calzones, pasta, various grilled items, pizza (gourmet style), and some very interesting salads.

We've been twice -- first just picked something up for the kids, then Saturday night my wife and I tried the pizza and the blue/green salad (absolutely fabulous). The kid's menu is quite a deal, at $3.50 per kid, and portions almost large enough for a grown-up. Next time we stop in, I'm going to get the Monte Christo -- try getting one of those at Romano's are Roslindale HOP.

They got major bonus points from me for handing out free cheese ravioli at the Roslindale farmer's market on Saturday.
