Man couldn't flee Yankee haters because he was stuck in post-fireworks traffic:
Correia and the group allegedly assaulted the dad with a baseball bat. He sustained a head injury and other injuries as a result of the attack.

I'm from downstate NY, and my family, when they actually care about baseball, prefers the Mets. And many people from way upstate NY like the Blue Jays, since Toronto is the nearest big city.

Heh, good one. Too bad the report says this Correia is 20 years old, and I'm no expert but the photo on the Fall River site you linked suggests the mayor is just a smidge older than that. Then again, maybe the mayor has a kid with the same name ...? ;-)
