This Jew has been hoping for such a thing for YEARS! Now, finally, I can go into a library without worrying that I might inadvertently be damned because of some kid's sandwich. :o)

Bacon?

You mean Sir Francis? What do Jews have against Sir Francis Bacon? And sandwiches? Sir Francis Bacon was not the fourth Earl of Sandwich. I think you people are confused!

Clearly, Sir Francis Bacon is unclean to us. It says so right there in Levitisaiah.

Does anyone know what all

By Aaron (not verified) | Mon, 07/14/2008 - 10:30am

Does anyone know what all those "child safety programs" are at $75,000 a pop?

I had read something in one

By anon (not verified) | Mon, 07/14/2008 - 12:03pm

I had read something in one of the papers that a "child safety" program can be pretty much anything that results in "children being more safe." If I read it correctly Everett wanted one for a pothole filling machine, with their explanation being that it would be used around schools to minimize children falling into pot holes, but they couldnt gurantee it would be used exclusivly for schools, so yeah a bit of a streach. Some cities seemed to ask for one so they could put an extra officer inside the highschool, which makes alot more sense.

Do Everett kids ride bicycles to schools?

By Ron Newman | Mon, 07/14/2008 - 1:41pm

If they do, then filling potholes is quite defensible as "child safety".

The most serious injuries I've ever had as a bicycle rider were caused by road hazards such as potholes, not by motor traffic.

the potholes could swallow our bikes whole.

Nothing against these fine

Nothing against these fine organizations, however, um, what about the all the squawking about our bridges and roads falling apart. Some of these monies surely could get the road party started.

talking about earmarks
