I'm not sure those ads even help anyway. Someone entering the subway intent on fondling a girl (or guy) is not going to see that sign and say to themselves "oh, I didn't know groping wasn't allowed here. I'd better behave myself." No, they won't even bother to look at the ads around them, as they'll be too busy looking for tail.

Also, the phrasing of the ad heading bugs me a bit. I get rubbed against all the time in the subway, and have rubbed against others. But that's because the T often packs us in like sardines, and, especially on the green line, makes jolting starts and stops, forcing us to bump into each other.

The ads weren't directed at the gropers, telling them to stop it. They were directed at the victims, encouraging them to report harassment.

"You are standing on the crowded train and they're behind you and they kind of like mush themselves on the back of you and you're like, 'ewww,'" added Andrea Pritchett of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

"Like, ohmygod, someone in a crowded train TOUCHED me!"

Christ. What is with all the paranoia about "groping"? I've NEVER heard a single female friend complain about this, and when I asked, the response has been universal: it's never happened to them or a friend.

Lots of reports of drunks and scary people, but shit, I'm male, and I see those too.

This whole thing smells like some bullshit extreme-feminist agenda to make a mountain out of a molehill. This afternoon I was getting on a red line train with a bunch of luggage and accidentally bumped into a woman when she stopped very suddenly. My hand (bracing a bag) hit her butt. Completely accidental, but now I'm paranoid that because of those stupid "we're WATCHING YOU, YOU EVIL MALE!" posters, I'm gonna get accused of groping. And what will I have in my defense? What will save me from having my name dragged through the mud?

And what is with all the cameras on the busses over in Cambridge? I rode the 77 a few weeks ago and counted SIX CAMERAS inside the bus alone!

you would agree it's entirely inappropriate behaviour, a violation of their person, and against the law?

Seriously? Seriously!?

Yes, encouraging women to report inappropriate behavior is all part of our Super Lesbian Baby Eating Man Killing agenda. We post the minutes of the meetings at our Hoo-Ha Cave, but I can't tell you where that is because you're a MAN.

The "OH WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE MENZ!" argument is tired.

Ok I wouldnt be someone I would call attractive. I mean Im not hideous, I dont make babys cry when I look at them. But Im pretty plain looking, and chubby. and the following has happened to me on the T

1. I was licked on the neck on the 66 bus.
2. My ass -- to clearify the area of my ass crack where it is almost my Hooha-- has been fondles and attempt at fingered on the red line at LEAST 3 times.
3. I have been grinded against at LEAST 3 times. And by grinded against I mean my ass has had something resembling a roll of quaters pressed and made circles upon at LEAST 3 times.

Every time I have either stomped on someones foot, or jabbed thier arm with my keys.

... in New York. Guy behind me would grind some portion of his anatomy into my butt. The trains were so crowded you usually couldn't even see who was doing it. It being a less enlightened time, we generally suffered in silence, so I'm glad women are being encouraged to speak up.

No need to be paranoid about brushing against someone; it's obvious when it's deliberate. I believe that's the point.

Try riding in Mexico or Spain. In Madrid, I was all but anally finger probed on the train during rush hour. Never said anything, as, well, I didn't want to appear to be an Uptight American or anything.
