Alleged North End bicycle thief all wet

Boston Police report a Somerville man wanted for one North End bicycle theft - and possibly others - tried to evade officers closing in on him around 10 p.m. yesterday by jumping off the North Washington Street bridge into Boston Harbor:

After the suspect jumped into the water, the suspect swam to the Commercial St. side of the bridge, exited the water and running down the Harbor Walkway. The suspect was caught after a brief foot pursuit, and struggle with officers and placed under arrest.

Jason Duncan, 29, was charged with with receiving stolen property, possession of burglarious tools, and resisting arrest.

Also click on the link to read about a man, 26, found shot twice at Dubois and Adams streets in Roxbury around 11:17 p.m. yesterday. He's expected to survive.
