the firefighters give themselves a bad name

By sheenaspleena | Fri, 08/22/2008 - 8:57pm

and they're in the news daily.

This was the 3rd corrupt firefighter story today!

1)Chief 'Shocked' After Pot Found In His Car
2)Firefighter Fired After Drug Arrest
3)Bodybuilding firefighter denied reinstatement

they're losing respect daily

I wonder if Donovan Slack will follow Arroyo to his next job

By Dan Farnkoff | Fri, 08/22/2008 - 9:39pm

interview at CVS or whatever. Same full-scale bodybuilding photo with Arroyo flexing in tight underwear, blaring headline, February 19, 2009: "Disgraced Boston Firefighter Tries for Retail Job, City Officials Pledge to Stop Him". I have never seen the Boston Globe micromanage a personnel situation like this before- it has become quite unseemly in my opinion. Investigations of corrupt cops get less coverage than this- whatever Arroyo was doing, he has been excoriated in the press more than both Jim Marzilli and the guy who stole coins out of the copy machine combined. And is this poor sap even a firefighter? I thought he was a fire inspector, but that doesn't stop the Globe from calling him a "Firefighter" over and over.

if he was collecting disability payments fradulently

then he was ripping off the taxpayers of Boston.

TOTALLY deserves attention.

Ripping off the taxpayers of Boston

By Dan Farnkoff | Fri, 08/22/2008 - 9:55pm

like "Limelight Studios", who have never paid a dime in personal property taxes despite owing thousands? There are hundreds of busineses who are ripping us off every day, but the Globe is only privy to what Tommy in his wisdom sees fit to share with them (through Dot Joyce, of course). It's a sort of symbiotic parasiticism, with the general public as the unwitting host. The taxpayers are being ripped off in ways you can't even imagine, sheenaspleena, because you only find out what people want you to know.

another day, another disgraceful firefighter in the news

By sheenaspleena | Sat, 08/23/2008 - 6:53pm

A Boston deputy fire chief who's already facing a rape charge has been arrested again.

According to the Plymouth District Attorney, Peter Pearson, 51, was arrested on Friday night and now faces additional charges of aggravated rape, kidnapping for sexual intercourse, assault with a dangerous weapon and impersonating a police officer.
