Hemenway is just one
Hemenway is just one neighborhood with lots of students. There are others. I bet they are out in mass in many neighborhoods. Tell me again why taxpayers get to pick up the tab, exclusively, for mob control.
3 outs to go. Let's hope we get the victory without the illegal celebrations and certainly without anyone getting maimed or killed.
who is in control of that one
and certainly without anyone getting maimed or killed.
well, lets see...the last time someone was killed by another member of the general public was a couple years ago when a drunk fan ran into a crowd with their SUV.
The last time someone was killed by a cop was...oh yeah, earlier this year when a kid mouthed off at a bunch of cops. And before that, Victoria Snelgrove.
So, the question is: can Boston PD bring more professionalism to The Game than the fans?
Good question, Brett.
This:
remains to be seen.
...The last time someone was
Now that is one unreasonably conclusive and incendiary statement.
As I was crossing Kenmore
As I was crossing Kenmore Square, two MBTA buses filled with cops rolled by, escorted by motorcycles.
They ran the light and turned from beacon onto brookline, where a cab was stopped unloading (or loading?) a passenger (the trunk was open)
"Get the hell out of the way, NOW, MOVE"
Is what the motorcycle said to the cab as he honked
Its upsetting that these cops are sent to Kenmore square already combative.
On the other hand, two other cops were sipping dunkin donuts coffee as barriers were being set up.
Incidentally, the barriers went much further up Beacon street this year
"Get the hell out of the
"Get the hell out of the way, NOW, MOVE"
Yes combative and intolerant of the rights of citizens to be driving or stopping in Kenmore Square Where was the emergency? Nowhere. They were arriving on the scene to get setup in case there was a destructive mob, to protect people and property.
The argument for this kind of alienating behavior is that police do dangerous jobs and therefore are entitled to exercising police powers in situations where they are not required - making citizens get out of the way, driving trough traffic lights, double parking for convenience not for police work, ignoring the instructions of non-police flagmen and more. Let's give it an name. Abuse of authority.
