Holding a baby while under the influence
An East Boston woman was arrested on drug and abuse charges today after she allegedly dropped her infant niece - who suffered no apparent injuries in the fall.
Caitlin Powers, 21, of East Boston, was to be arraigned this morning in Chelsea District Court, according to the Suffolk County DA's office. The infant's mother, Alicia Powers, 28, of Revere, is not being charged in the incident.

Double fulltime
The Herald reports on a guy who was getting paid fulltime to work as an MBTA inspector even as he was also getting paid fulltime as a meter reader for the city of Revere - at least until his T bosses found out and suspended him. You gotta love the mayor of Revere:
Revere Mayor Thomas Ambrosino yesterday said other city employees have other jobs and Dandrow's MBTA job is "none of my business."

Old Massholes never die, they just keep driving
Berto describes a granny-Masshole encounter on the American Legion Highway in Revere today:
... I slammed on the brakes, and she glided in front of my car with about two feet to spare.
Then she stopped. At a green light. On a highway.
Apparently, she wanted to turn left, but didn’t make it to the turn lane. She just stopped in front of me, next to the turn lane. I hit my horn. Several others behind me followed suit. She wouldn't move.
After about 15 seconds of sitting at a dead stop in the middle of the highway, she cut her wheel and inched toward the turn lane. Then stopped. Then inched up again. ...
