It's always most cool to put faces with the blogs you've been reading for months or even years - let alone catching up with some folks you've known for awhile. Last night, about a dozen of us blogger types, from as far away as Dedham and Dorchester met up at Doyle's Cafe basically just to say hi. Alyssa lists some of the folks and posts photos (including one of me taking a picture of her). Mike Ball proved far more organized than me - he brought name tags (and pens, even). Even the Drew Gilpin Faust Fan Club represented. It was most fun, we should do it again, and next time I should bring the kidlet.

Roommate charged with stabbing JP man to death

Shortly before 7 p.m., 5 Gartland St. (on a map). Victim taken to Brigham and Women's with multiple stab wounds. Suspect is 52, victim in his 30s, according to the Suffolk County DA's office, which says an arraignment is likely this afternoon in West Roxbury District Court.

Teens arrested for murder of a 13-year-old in 2007

Boston Police report arresting the teens for the fatal Jan. 12, 2007 shooting of Luis Gerena near the Jackson Square T stop.

Nurudeen Alabi, now 19, of Roxbury and Darrell Rodrigues, now 17, of Roxbury, were already in custody on other, unrelated charges, police say.

Police say the two shot Gerena on Horan Way shortly after he got off the Orange Line at Jackson Square. Gerena made it to Parker Street before collapsing. He died at Boston Medical Center.

Boy, 13, was minutes from home when slain.
