About the last place you'd expect to see a guy in full leather garb walking down the street is in laced-too-tight Newton. GStorm17 reports on what he saw on Winchester Street around 9:30 last night:

Margalit reports on "Insane Dad," a Newton father who has taken such an intense dislike to a group of Newton kids that he put up a Web page with their photos and detailed descriptions of why he hates them. The page came down in about four hours after Margalit and others complained to the hosting company. Naturally, it doesn't end there.

No evidence of cell phone use in D Line accident

After examining Ter'rese Edmonds' cell phone for usage leading up to the May 28 crash on the Green D Line, the Middlesex District Attorney declared today that there was no evidence to suggest she was distracted by her cell phone in any way. No e-mail, text messaging, phone calls, or internet use was going on in the minutes prior to the crash. What exactly caused her to miss the signal and go 30 mph too fast that day into the rear of another train leaving a stop signal is still unknown.

Krissy reports on a visit to the Newton-Wellesley emergency room last night:

Last night Matt sprained his ankle really badly and we thought it was broken. ... The Celtics game was on the TVs in there, and it really felt almost like I was in a sports bar as opposed to an emergency room waiting room. People in pain were discussing the game, wheeling over in wheelchairs to see the screen, asking the score.

Paul Levy reports that one of his neighbors still has a fallout shelter installed by a previous owner:

The cover of this bomb shelter is made out of lead to protect you from radioactivity -- since the government would promptly announce through the CONELRAD alert system that intercontinental ballistic missiles were en route so you would have enough time to get into the shelter. A nearby vent shaft brings in outside air -- no doubt through a filter that was sold as incredibly effective in sifting out any contaminants. Electricity was provided by, ahem, a line from your house -- as though the supply would stay remarkably reliable through the bombardment of the Boston metropolitan area. ...
