The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston is allowing the Rev. Jerome F. Gillespie to return to parish work, after a court dismissed charges that he drunkenly propositioned a 12-year-old girl and her mother in a Chelsea restaurant three years ago.

now says "CO Poisoning". Does WBZ read Universal Hub?

A sufficiently high concentration of carbon dioxide is poisonous, but it would be very unusual for carbon dioxide poisoning to occur in a car.

Is anonymous saying that the Catholic Church has something to do with this incident, or just comment spamming?

The periodic table is probably where ever your grammar checker is hiding.

What's with the errant apostrophe mark after "damn" in your headline?

Pot, meet kettle.

Also, a periodic table wouldn't have helped you at all. Both CO and CO2 are possible based on their periodicities, so the table wouldn't have told you anything relevant here.

But, hey, you just wanted to make fun of WBZ for confusing the two. Damn' the consequence.

The apostrophe in the subject line was because it's an abbreviation of "damned," the correct form in this use. However, when used as a verb, it's "damn," so there's nothing to shorten, hence that apostrophe shouldn't be there.

That's just damn wrong according to the dictionary. Try definition #3 for adjectives where "damn" = "damned". The apostrophe is nonsense. Now, if you wanted to say "damn'd" and get all Shakespearian about WBZ's error, then tatefox forgot the 'd' on the end.

Either way, I don't really give a tinker's damn. The periodic table doesn't distinguish between CO or CO2 which was the whole damn point.
