Maybe Milton residents aren't tossing their trash in Boston just because they're cheap bastards

Mark Baard, who hails from across the Neponset, reports:

Here in Milton, we’ve been unable at times to get legitimate trash (with a $3 sticker affixed to it), picked-up.

Boston City Councilor Rob Consalvo has proposed measures to keep Milton trash in Milton, such as video cameras and alarms at common dumping sites on the Boston side of the river.

Hell, this city is always looking to extract money from people. Why not allow nonresidents the opportunity to dump their refuse for a fee. Let them bring anything and everything to a location and depending on what they have, charge them accordingly. Maybe even undercharge our suburban neighbors. Just a thought.

if they start enforcing the city code that prohibits throwing recyclables in the trash? That's causing a hell of a lot more unnecessary trash than a few Miltonites bringing their trash across the border.

I also would love it if Boston charged for trash pickup as well; there'd be a lot fewer piles of perfectly good toys and clothes and furniture on the curb if Boston charged a few bucks per bag to pick it up -- it's free to give it to charity.
