When did Rupert Murdoch re-buy the Herald?

It's in the Dig's Media Farm this week, so it must be true, right?

... It's worth noting that Sulzberger owns the Boston Globe and that Murdoch owns the Boston Herald, the rival dailies in this proud two-newspaper town. ...

And now the Dig has changed it to read "owned" instead of "owns." Never mind.

So today's Herald and Fox News share the same pedigree: of the breed of Rupert Murdoch. However, the Herald's site says that Patrick Purcell owns the Herald as an independent publication. Sadly ironic that the a locally owned publication should retain the same model of noise over news that Murdoch favors.
