Rescuing the place from liquidation? Let's not forget Scott Harshbarger already had a plan to shut the entire hospital down (using his authority over charities) when Levy became CEO. Obviously, he's not perfect, but he's leaving BI in a lot better shape than when he took over.

There's no doubt he's done amazing things for BIDMC. Just having a blog like he did is extremely commendable of him. The surgeries obviously weren't his fault either, but if the hospital were to make another error, this time fatal, it would inevitably be brought up in trial.

It was supposed to be a lighthearted joke about a recent blemish on BIDMC anyways. He's definitely leaving to move on with life. He's done his job and saved the place. Now it's time to explore some of his passions.
