In addition to the previously announced parking bans around Boston Garden and Faneuil Hall (and, of course, Kenmore Square), MassDOT just announced a series of highway exit closures between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.: I-93, exit 23 (Government Center/North End), I-93, exit 24 (Government Center/Callahan Tunnel) and the ramp from the Sumner Tunnel to Surface Artery/Haymarket.
Also, the city has ordered bars in the Garden and Kenmore areas to not admit anybody once the second period ends and to black out their windows (normally, bars are required to keep their windows clear so cops can look inside and see what's going on; the goal is to keep the rabble from watching TVs from outside).

Blacking out windows will also protect Boston bound ships from U-Boat attacks.
Remember, loose lips sink ships.

Next: Menino gives the BPD shoot-to-kill authorization for anyone in a bar who tries to order a beer or speak above a whisper.
Go Bruins!

If they're going to funnel us like cattle with a bunch of metal barriers setup to keep us from celebrating in the street, the least they can do is put in a corrugated surface on the curb cutouts so we don't slip and spook going into the wash water and drown.
(Guess who really liked the Emmy award-winning movie about Temple Grandin on HBO)
I'm really glad Somerville is a separate city from Boston

Here in Davis Square, people happily hang out watching the huge TV's of Mike's Restaurant through its many open windows. We do it for the Red Sox, we do it for the Celtics, and we'll do it for the Bruins. (Too cold to do it for the Pats.) Everyone has a great time.
seems reasonable to me.

seems reasonable to me. Menino doesn't want those suburban thugs coming into his city and tearing the place apart.

Gaggles of young men in Bruins gear headed toward Lansdowne Street. State Police horse trailers drove by on Boylston a few minutes ago, guessing the mounted units will set up near Kenmore Sq. Phalanx of BDP motorcycles going the other direction, toward Symphony/ Gainsboro/ Northeastern. The students here for summer session certainly won't be as excitable or as numerous as they were for the Red Sox and Patriots championship games. But the suburbanites...
