Neither community opponents nor union picketers could stop it, the Jamaica Plain Gazette reports.
Do you like how UHub is doing? Consider a contribution. Thanks!
I guess those who opposed it can go on to the no Wal-Mart in Dudley Square cause. The ones who aren't camping in Dewey Square.
OH, that's rich. Entitled, er, I mean, empowered, black folk and overeducated 20-somethings giving a shit about something that doesn't affect *their* community?
You notice how Occupy Wallstreet didn't actually go into any poor neighborhoods? Yeeaaaaaaaaaah.
Such as Occupy The Hood, which included a march from Dewey Square to Dudley?
I assume it will have sit-down eating like other Whole Foods stores I've visited. If so, who's up for a Universal Hub meet-up there on the evening of Wednesday, November 2? Maybe around 7 pm?
That way everyone could afford it.
Trader Joe's would be a great idea, and sells some of the same products but seems to be a bit of a different model from WF. There's a section on the TJ's website where you can tell them where you want the next store -- why don't you suggest JP to them? I've suggested Dorchester a few times and really hope one shows up!
Help keep Universal Hub going. If you like what we're up to and want to help out, please consider a (completely non-deductible) contribution.
