Homeless teen to spend next year in jail awaiting trial for murder of one man, shooting of two more

John Graham, 18, was ordered held without bail today on charges he murdered an Irish man after the annual Adams Corner Irish festival last fall and then shot two more men in a robbery attempt three weeks later, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Graham's trial on charges of first-degree murder, armed assault with intent to rob and single counts of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm for the three shootings was scheduled for Jan. 13, 2013, the DA's office reports.

Prosecutors allege Graham shot Ciaran Conneely, 36, in the chest early on Oct. 10, as Conneely walked to his Nahant Avenue home. Conneely's body was found a few yards from his front door. Prosecutors say Graham admitted to killing Conneely as part of a robbery.

On Oct. 30, the DA's office alleges, two men walking along Monsignor Lydon Way found themselves confronted by a teen with a gun, who demanded money:

"They thought the weapon was fake and refused," Assistant District Attorney Ian Polumbaum said. “The defendant opened fire, striking one victim four times from behind and the other victim in the arm. The first victim suffered life-threatening injuries."

If convicted of first-degree murder, Graham would spend the rest of his life behind bars with the possibility of parole.

Innocent, etc.
