Passenger William Gomez, another adult, fled the scene and was later detained as well.

Wow. "Uh oh, we were just in a car crash and there's a 5-year old with us who might die. I'm gettin' out of here!" Friggin' lowlife...

News reports that are now saying that in addition to be drunk (allegedly) that the father is an illegal immigrant as well.
