6 spots, 6 candidates...this should be easy...

At least the guy didn't bitch about the result in the comments field and call the election a "high school popularity contest." Or show up for the publication's candidate photo in shorts, an Ed Hardy knockoff shirt and sunglasses and look completely unprofessional and unelectable. Or get outvoted nearly seven to one by a write-in candidate who showed up for the winner's photo in jeans and a T-shirt. Oh, wait...

Councilor LaMattina had it right:

“I have no problem with Al,” LaMattina says. “I know that he doesn’t have a lot of friends in the particular neighborhood that he’s operating in, in the North End.”

You know, the biggest problem with a popularity contest is that somebody has to like you. But no, that's not the problem - it's that everybody else is breaking the law. Except the guy who has made himself a pariah breaking the law and being nasty about it.

I don't think this guy could win a one-man race for dogcatcher.

Number of votes for belligerent Segway guy, the only candidate on the ballot not to be elected: 18

Number of votes for people not on the ballot at all: 147

Number of votes cast for the losing write-in candidates: 27

Whine all you want, Al, but Anyone But Al won the popularity contest.

He thought he had it in the bag. There was just one problem -- fake TripAdvisor reviewers can't vote!
