Bus-attack suspect ordered to listen to her mother

A 15-year-old charged with participating in last weekend's attack on a Route 16 bus driver had bail set today at $1,000, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

The DA's office reports Dorchester District Court Magistrate Michelle Bulger set several other conditions on the Hyde Park girl, not named because of her age: She has to wear a GPS device, follow a 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew and "obey any rules set by her mother."

"obey any rules set by her mother."

Sure! Obey any rules set by the woman who apparently did such a crappy job raising her child that said child thinks it's okay to gang up on a defenseless individual and beat the stuffing out of 'em!

Clearly not, because you have no clue. You don't hire a babysitter for a teen, dear.

We also don't know if the "Bad mother" was at work supporting her family, or if the girl has even been in trouble before. For all we know, "bad Mother" might have even turned her in! But I suppose she's a bad mom if she works or a bad mom if she doesn't in your book because hating should be easy.

A bit defensive. Are you personally invested in this mother?

But I am tired of the mother blaming (always the mother's fault no matter what, right?) when a kid does something stupid. The reality is that certain teenagers will just do stupid shit regardless of how they are raised, particularly in groups, and their first act of stupid shit may be totally epic stupid.

Child misbehavior is such a wonderful pretext for hating on women, generally. We never hear such venomous derision aimed at the fathers, present or absent (except to scold women for raising kids in their absence).
