Investigators try to match missing-person reports with body found near Fairmount Line yesterday

State Police are trying to figure out whose badly decomposed body was found yesterday near the Fairmount Line and the Neponset River by Dana Avenue in Hyde Park, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports:

Given the condition of the remains, identification is expected to take some time, as is the Medical Examiner's determination as to cause and manner of death. The location of the remains is on Department of Conservation and Recreation property, so the investigation will be led by State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk DA's office, who have jurisdiction over death investigations on State Property inside the City of Boston.

I have yet to see any reports on the sex of the person or the race. This would be considered helpful info

also some homeless hang around there. It's usually a quiet, safe area.

Hyde Park has a large number of halfway houses and group homes also so that could be an option. Some of the locals from the area pubs may be another option. There are houses only a few feet away from this area so if I'm surprised the residents tolorated that.
