Transit Police report they are investigating three attacks by "rowdy and unruly youths" on Red Line riders between Ashmont and JFK over the past week. Patrols on the line have been increased.
6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 11:45 PM? How many "utes" are doing this?
OK MBTA police, time to shed the banner of how cool we are you have had since the Marathon Bombings and smack some heads.
The Elephant In The Room in the Ashmont neighborhood "revival" is the killings / stabbings / Anti-Social behavior are getting closer and closer to Peabody Square. Another Boston neighborhood will be destabilized if the cops don't get off of their assess and deal with this now.
I have watched the slime layer creep closer and closer to where I grew up for the past 40 years and now the wolf is at the door. It doesn't matter if they are white, black, brown, purple, or crimson, a scum element is infecting a good area. Perhaps the cops should really "Increase Patrols" before the Red Line gets its own Goetz.
You are saying the problem is non-white troublemakers and a "white area" is being infected? Not what I said. I said slime. I would have said the same thing is they were all named Murphy, Donato, or Culligan. What you said however, That's racist.
Aside from the responsibility of the 'youts' to be respectful of human beings, societal norms, and to exhibit self control, not act impulsively in a psychopathic manner:
First, If blame is to be placed, it should be placed on the doorstep of the person/people who raised these 'youts'. Second, it should be placed on the institutions that enable the 'youts'.
If you want to blame government, the regular police themselves aren't at the top of the list; the administrators and other responsible officials who are well aware [in this case] that the transit police department is too small to do it's job, especially in an effective proactive manner, take the blame. But these people almost all operate below the radar and behind the scenes, unlike regular law enforcement officers who deal directly with the public / taxpayers [not always one and the same] and are the public 'face' of the organization. They don't create the rules of the game or decide why such and such a thing is done this way as opposed to another way. That's the responsibility of the management I spoke of above. Finally, Law enforcement are not SOCIAL WORKERS [or shouldn't be]. Neither are they substitutes for absent or non-existent responsible adults such as parent[s] in these 'youts' lives.

That's right keep them in
That's right keep them in "their neighborhoods" because they should't be worrying about a safer Boston, just a safer "white" Boston.
Hey Anon

That's right play the race
That's right play the race card when the poster above went out of their way to state they don't care about skin color.
Sounds like you're playing
Sounds like you're playing the race card, not the poster above.
Besides, what's racist about wanting a safe, slime-free neighborhood? Seems pretty reasonable, IMO.
Police?

Cool story, Travis Bickle.
Cool story, Travis Bickle.
I know who Travis Bickle is
What's a fictional movie character from the 1970s have to do with this?
