Boston Magazine no US News and World Report; retracts entire school-ranking list
By adamg on Sun, 09/14/2014 - 9:59am
The Globe reports both it and Boston Magazine found some major ish with its recently released ranking of area high schools.
Boston Magazine gave major weight to SAT scores, even though 26 of the 65 schools wouldn’t disclose them. So those 26 were assigned an average of the scores for schools that did report, thereby placing them safely in the middle of the pack.

<facepalm> looks like Babson should review someone's credentials
According to the Glob article:
That's boggling. Sounds like they should get back whatever money they paid him, and Babson should take a closer look at all of this guy's work. Does malpractice extend to STEM professionals?
all his degrees come from
all his degrees come from Babson, so I think Babson is familiar with his credentials
Did they redact the public schools listing too?
Because there were some problems with that too... To Boston Magazine's credit, corrections were made, but the problem with the private schools listing calls in to question the magazine's credibility when it comes to these lists at all.
How does Boston Magazine designate the best doctors?...
How does Boston Magazine designate the best doctors?... some of the listings of best doctors are not.
They toss a bunch of names
.. cut from the doctor section of a phone book into an oversized Red Sox baseball hat, give em a shake and then toss all over the floor for interns to pick up and assign rank by order of discovery.
It is very scientific and data driven cause... Journalism!!!
