Westie High was the city dump , high school was on Poplar street
Fun fact , Brannelly's was a little bar , had an A & P beside it.
Kasanoff 's had a bakery on Blue Hill ave
The old Roche Bros was an Elm Farm , the new one was Pope Lumber

West on Centre was not charlies, it was Foley's or some crap.
High School on Poplar was Rozie High
Westie High is next to the dump, built on a swamp.
Charlie's is the penny candy store, which is now owned by a different family.

Dude , I knew the Charlie , been to the dump, of course the old HS was in a Roslindale Square so that everyone could go to Joslin's . Maybe they had candy at the Brigham's , across the street from the Ford dealer , that was beside Charlie's on the bend. Only Foley I know is Gerry , on Dover street.

It's right next to where the bowling alley used to be. Also, the only place to get breakfast in West Roxbury at like 6 a.m. (but bring cash - no credit cards).

Wheels lock once they pass a certain point. Its to prevent homeless and/or can collectors from walking off with the carriages.
