There are always cars poking out from New England / Colonial / Southern into Talbot Avenue in some sort of weird way like a squirrel trying to dart across the traffic of Talbot as a way to cut from Norfolk to Washington while trying to avoid Codman Square. Yes, there is a signal there, but Talbot Ave. isn't Grover's Corners. This has all the hallmarks of someone not waiting for the light to change.

The layout of the streets made sense in 1880, not so much today.

The poor kid on the bike. Before everyone yelps on about the traditional bikes versus cars moronfest today, just remember some kid was killed because of the lack of patience of someone else.

Fox is reporting that police found the car that left the scene and arrested the driver. Charges to be filed later.

There is really no reason for the video to exist online. They should take it down

I wonder if that guy called 911 first, or just immediately started filming what should've never been filmed.

Whether the person filming called 911 or not doesn't matter in this case as there were dozens of people around and I'm sure 911 was inundated with calls. It's not like a lone bystander who skips 911 to film.
Yes, the footage was horrific but I'm not so sure it shouldn't have been made or posted. It's impact is exponentially higher than an article that states yet another cyclist has been hit and killed. Some people get numb to that or are just callous about cycling fatalities. This video makes it raw and violent and brutal and personal. And maybe, at the very least, that will impact some people enough to be more aware both driving and cycling.

probably unavoidable at this point when everyone's first impulse is to film everything. The chaos of the scene is striking and terribly sad but the fact that there were two nurses on the scene who immediately went into action to administer CPR was also pretty amazing.

The DA claims the driver who fled has never had a valid license...

I wish I could say I was shocked.
