Gov. Baker said he's lifting the eastern-Massachusetts driving ban at midnight, but Mayor Walsh said that doesn't mean everybody should go out and release their pent-up driving urges. He said he's keeping the ban on parking on key roads "until further notice:"
Boston is still in the middle of a winter storm of historic proportions. People should only be driving under emergency circumstances. We are doing everything we can to dig out and stay on top of every safety concern, but we need everyone's co-operation. It is not time for anyone to relax or get complacent.
Meanwhile, BPS is telling parents and excited kids that no, no decision has been made about school on Thursday, no matter what that robo-call they just got said:
Programming problem with our robo-call system. To confirm, at this time schools and offices are closed for Wednesday, Jan 28, only.

I'm a BPS custodian. We were offered a comp day if we were able to make it to work. I wasn't as I rely on the T.
I know of a few custodians who were able to make it in and three guys who made it and as they were snow blowing their schools out the city towed their cars from the school parking lots.
There is a lot of work to do tomorrow and it all depends on the snow drifts and how bad the plows mess up the sidewalks to know if school will be open.
This is what the plows did to the Charlestown school I worked at in 2013

They had to bring in several bobcats to fix them.

No signs of snow removal on Cambridge St.
This clearly shows they need to move a lot of snow.

Also fire truck got stuck at corner of Irving and Phillips.

Charles St is in much better shape, but the side streets are all blocked. Ironic in that Charles St gets much less traffic than Cambridge St.
That will be much easier to clear up, although Mount Vernon Street was only plowed one lane wide.
Beacon Street looked better for the most part.
