Haar, on a protracted visit to Ireland last year with uxorial unit and two of her friends, we were at first amused and surprised to read the many, many signs in Western and Southern Ireland "SHEEP IN THE ROAD". They weren't kidding. Not only were most roads the width of an apartment hallway, but they damned sheep were everywhere.

That became one of our catch phrases as we tooled around for two weeks. SHEEP IN THE ROAD.

But you'd best not hit one or the rental car company will fleece you!

Open-range laws mean that herd animals can be in the highway...and that you're liable for damage to the animal if you hit one.

Difficulty: cows are more common than sheep.

Maybe they're working their way over to NY's Duchess County Sheep and Wool? But hitting the New England Fiber Festival just after the Big E?
