For example: it's pretty amazing how they were able to get the NFL to jam the Steeler's headsets, seeing as how the NFL controls that gear, not the Pats. I mean, getting the league to do your dirty work for you like that is really something!
So you apparently think the Patriots are not only cheaters, but idiots.
Because you'd have to be an idiot to try to pull something like RadioGate on opening night, with a national TV audience, and the Patriot-hating announcers ready to pounce on anything with even the slightest appearance of impropriety. Which, of course, on cue, they did.
As for the "illegal shift" -- let me draw your attention to this line in the box score:
Pittsburgh
Penalties (Number-Yards) 8 - 77
New England
Penalties (Number-Yards) 7 - 64
News flash: NFL teams break the rules ALL THE TIME. That's why they have referees and umpires and penalties.
1. The Patriots headsets were NOT disabled while this happened. That was an erroneous report that was later corrected.
2. Correct, the NFL provides the headsets. As if it's impossible for a team to jam a radio frequency. Tomlin says this has happened to him repeatedly at Foxboro: http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/09/tomlin-says-s...
3. Right, my (and others) pointing out legitimate issues that somehow always seem to hang over the Pats organization must mean I'm crazy. Many New England fans are truly entering the denial stage nowadays--"everything they say about Brady & my team must be lies because...they're jealous!" doesn't hold up.
1) NFL already stated the headphone problem is their fault, which makes sense since they control the headphones.
2) If the shift was illegal, it's up to the refs to call it. The refs viewed it as legal.
3) The Pats are viewed as playing dirty? according to you? references please?
There are far worse cheaters who have tanked our economy repeatedly and been rewarded with bailouts which they used for bonuses for their fellow cheaters.
And then there are the attempts to block statisticians who have noticed questionable voting machine behavior from getting data to check for larger scale patterns of possible fraudulent returns.
But a flat football is the end of the world.
If you are going to get vexed about cheaters, perhaps you should go big or go home?
...you just wasted another minute of your special snowflake life making sure that we all know that you still don't like football. Thank you for that important information!
The football fanatic and diehard Pats fan inside me dies a little anytime someone is like, "There was a game?" But, then I remember how I felt during the World Cup as someone who has no interest in soccer and couldn't care less, and people kept saying to me, "You love sports and you don't watch the World Cup?!" We don't all like and pay attention to the same stuff--let's just be nice about it to each other :)
I did read it and I get your point. I also recognized cybah's comment as sarcasm. Just don't feel like we need to insult each other and get all crazy b/c some people do or don't like football, that's all.

...and apparently aided by the Pats illegally running their radio broadcast between the Steelers coaches, QB & defensive headsets in the 1st quarter.
And ran an illegal shift they (correctly) found that would draw the Steelers off-sides.
But yeah, it's anyone's guess as to why the Pats have a reputation around the league for cheating & playing dirty...
Yeah, the Pats are good at that cheating thing.

It is definitely illegal to jam any radio frequency. The FCC actually takes that seriously, and prosecutes people who do it.

Stay away from the football conversations man, you clearly can't hang or you're a fan of one of the many teams the Pats have beat over the years.
