Out-of-season rental-truck near-Storrowing

Only a few hours after the Silber footbridge decapitated a truck, a slightly more alert truck driver narrowly managed to avoid a similar fate - and luckily for him, fellow commuters, such as Scrams, were in no mood to get out of their cars and tell him what they thought of having their rush hour extended.

Adam...
Adam.. since you report all this stuff.
In your opinion.. or anyone here on Uhub's for that matter... Do you think this is happening more often than normal? Or are we just seeing more reports of it (and in previous years it just went un-reported)
It sure helps
When everyone has their phone seemingly right at their fingertips to document each occasion. Luckily they're only using them for photojournalism and never for texting, because that would be illegal
Definitely...
...happening more often. I have been commuting on Storrow Drive for over ten years and can honestly say there has been an up-tick in this lately. I have been late to work 3 times in the past month due to these trucks. My boss hardly believes the excuse anyymore, thank god I can send him links to the UHub posts proving the phenomena is real!
Thanks Adam!
I blame GPS.
I blame GPS.
More to the point...
Cell phone based GPSs. When companies had to buy the stand-alone units they might have sprung for the truck specific ones. I wouldn't be surprised if scummy companies now just give the driver a car-charger and tell them to use the mapping application on their own phone. (Or if drivers prefer their phone and ignore the stand alone unit.)
This asshole...
turned my 9.5 mile commute into an hour long stop and go tour of Storrow drive. Then someone spun out and had staties surrounding their smashed car at Longfellow.
These truck drivers can't be punished enough. How do you ignore all the signs hanging down, hitting your truck?
The only solution are brick-and-mortar/steel tunnels at the entry ways to Storrow drive. Then the drivers can hit those and back up traffic around the on-ramps while leaving the traffic on Storrow alone.
AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
