The twisted thing at the end of the line might be a rail freight car (or it might be some sort of a truck where we can't see the cab due to the angle of the photo (or it might have been a 18-wheeler trailer without a tractor cab)).

Even if it is a rail freight car, "truck trouble" might still be appropos.

The wheel assemblies that support rail cars are sometimes called trucks.

Rail car wheel assemblies and the frame that holds them together are called "trucks" in North America and "bogies" in the rest of the world.

....but I believe the British often refer to freight cars as 'trucks.'

"Truck" means "freight car" in the UK. It's a reference to Thomas the Tank Engine, a TV show.

Since then, however, my little one has introduced me to Thomas, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Speaking of which, I should get back to work so that I can be a really useful engine.

series (the one with George Carlin) on DVD, and introduce your little one to that version. Actual - and quite good - modelmaking as opposed to the CGI garbage now being used.

disclaimer - as a railfan and model railroader, friends and co-workers who have kids have been asking my opinion about the Thomas series since it first aired.
