Three-alarm fire spreads in Charlestown
Firefighters responded at 7:30 p.m. to a fire at 40 Washington St. in Charlestown. The fire spread to 42-44 Washington.
The Boston Fire Department reports one firefighter has been injured in the fire, which was already shooting through the roof when trucks pulled up.
The fire was declared knocked down around 8:10 p.m. The department estimates damage at $750,000; the cause is under investigation. Some 15 residents were displaced.
